Visit Cornwall

Malcolm Bell became Head of Tourism at Visit Cornwall on the 1st January 2010. Prior to this appointment Malcolm was Director of South West Tourism from April 1999. His previous appointment was as Director of Economic Development with PROSPER (the joint Business Link and Training & Enterprise Council for Devon & Cornwall, where he progressed PROSPERS’s strategic activities on economic development, tourism, inward investment, and rural and urban initiatives

Malcolm is a Cornishman, married with two daughters, and a keen dinghy sailor. He is a Fellow of the Tourism Society, Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturing and Commerce and a Fellow of the Academy of Food and Wine Service.

He was an expert advisor to the European Commission and a member of the EC’s Tourism Sustainability Group from its start in 2004 till it ceased in 2013 and was involved and lead the working group to establish a core set of indicators to measure sustainable tourism.

Other appointments include Governor of Cornwall College, Regional, Chair of South West Lakes LTD and trustee of South West lakes Trust, a Trustee of the Charity that oversees the Fifteen Cornwall Restaurant that helps disadvantaged youth to train to be chefs.
