Video for travel marketers and bloggers

Tuesday 29 January 2013, 10am-4pm
Royal Horseguards Hotel

This day-long course, including lunch, looks at how travel companies can make better use of video to market themselves and how bloggers can improve their content by embracing video.

Video traffic on the internet is increasing all the time and now accounts for half of all traffic. Crucially, companies that use video in their marketing have higher conversion rates. Bloggers can also distinguish themselves by uploading content alongside their words and images.

The course, run by Steve Keenan and Mark Frary plus invited guest experts, will look at:

  • why video is becoming so important and how not to be left behind
  • different methods of creating video, including filming for yourself, low-cost and professional, with a focus on equipment and crew hire costs
  • tips on choosing the right story and best angles
  • travel industry and vlogger best practice
  • best use of distribution channels such as YouTube, Vimeo and Dailymotion, plus a look at apps and livestreaming
  • whether getting a video clip to go viral is something that can be learned
  • hands-on filming session, using a variety of video cameras with professional travel outfit Travizeo
  • editing and editing software
  • This course is best suited to travel PRs, comms executives, digital marketers and social media managers at travel companies - and others with an interest in making better use of video in a way that translates into sales.

This courses takes place on Tuesday 29 January at the Royal Horseguards Hotel, near Charing Cross in central London.
