The conference starts at 1.30pm on Thursday April 21, with the Social Travel Britain Awards at dinner that evening. There is a full day of seminars on Friday April 22, with social events on the morning of Saturday April 23.

Social Travel Britain is a conference that recognises the best initiatives in digital marketing, and introduces the thinking that will further influence best practice in the year to follow.

The conference, now in its second year, has been devised by two experienced travel journalists who have moved from print into social media and digital storytelling: Steve Keenan, former online travel editor of The Times and Sunday Times, and Sunday Times travel agony uncle Mark Frary.

In 2016, Social Travel Britain will come to Bristol, Britain’s first European Green Capital, home of Banksy and the SS Great Britain. Two days of seminars on April 21-22 will be followed by a Saturday morning of social events.

The Social Travel Britain conference explores best practice in use of social media, digital and mobile tools, with case studies from domestic and international DMOs which have successfully reinvented themselves for the new world.

The conference will also offer a forum for tourism CEOs and policy makers, marketers and communication teams to meet the cream of the travel blogging community, and to find out how to work together to mutual benefit.

The conference will also see the announcement of the second annual Social Travel Britain Awards, recognising the best digital innovations and social media campaigns in British tourism over the past 12 months.
