Social Travel Britain Awards 2016 - CATEGORIES

TIME TO WIN ONE OF OUR PRIZED PEBBLES

Nominate now for the Social Travel Britain Awards 2016

The Social Travel Britain Awards 2016 are open to organisations and individuals involved in UK tourism, both domestic and inbound. Nominations can be made by anyone, including yourself, but must relate to standalone campaigns and year-round social media management related to UK tourism in the year to March 1, 2016. (Work by UK agencies for overseas tourism and travel businesses is not eligible.)

There are four umbrella categories - accommodation, attraction, DMO and transport.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation awards are open to providers of accommodation in the UK including hotels, B&Bs, holiday rentals as well as specialist accommodation.

ATTRACTIONS

Attraction awards are open to tourist attractions in the UK, including theme parks, zoos, historic homes, shopping destinations and gardens.

DMO/TOURIST BOARDS

DMO awards are open to regional and individual city/town destination marketing organisations or tourist boards in the UK, both public and private.

TRANSPORT

Transport awards are open to transport providers, such as coach and ferry companies, train companies and tourist vehicle hire firms.

Within each of these four categories, there are four awards – overall use of social media, standalone campaign, outreach/blogger initiative and best use of online video.

The overall use of social media award is given for continued work across the 12 months to March 1, 2016. Nominations should show how the use of social media has used multiple channels and demonstrate the success over the course of the 12 months, showing relevant figures.

The standalone campaign award is given for a specific campaign and should include details of the campaign goal, execution and the results of the campaign.

The outreach award is given to an organisation that shows innovation in their work with bloggers and other content creators, such as Instagrammers and vloggers. The nomination should include concrete details of why this has worked well.

The best use of online video award is given to the organisation who has demonstrated an understanding of the use of online video, either as a standalone campaign or an ongoing basis. The nomination should include details of the concept, execution and results.

NEW AWARDS

In 2016, we have also introduced two new awards: best grassroots use of social media and social media personality of the year.

The grassroots award can be won by an individual or organisation. The award will be given to someone who has been engaged in social media for less than a year and has already made a good impact. The nomination should include details of eligibility and why they should win.

The social media personality award is an individual award and can be won by anyone with an involvement in social media, blogging or similar content creation with a focus on UK tourism.

Individuals and organisations may be nominated in more than one category but the entry should address all the specified requirements.

All categories must relate to the 12-month period to March 1, 2016
